Howard Robert “Bob” Lundt, 80, of Loveland, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2007 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born on December 3, 1926 in Blair, Nebraska to Gustav William and Verna Irene (Hoover) Lundt. He formerly lived in Blair, Hastings, West Point, Calloway, Kearney, Nebraska, and Ft. Morgan, Colorado before moving to Ft. Collins, Colorado in 1964. He retired to Loveland, Colorado in 1987.
He served in the Navy Seabees as a Ship Cook, 3rd Class in WWII. Bob married Sharon Hamlin on October 22, 1977 in Loveland, Colorado. He was a math teacher at Ft. Collins High School for 23 years. He enjoyed gunsmithing, gardening, snow mobiling, traveling, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the NRA, Colorado Retired Teachers Association, and the Loveland Archaeological Society.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons, Jack Lundt and wife Sandra, Rick Lundt, all of Ft. Collins, Tim Lundt and wife Debbi of Palmer, Alaska; brother-in-law, Bill Hamlin of Loveland, mother-in-law, Frances Hamlin of Loveland; grandchildren, Morgan and McKenzie; 4 nieces, including Judy Kiefer of Ft. Collins, and 2 nephews; puppy, Abbie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav and Verna Lundt; his first wife, Karen; brother, William; and sister, Patricia Trouton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Larimer County or the Loveland Archaeological Society in care of Allnutt Funeral Service. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2007 at First Christian Church, 2000 N. Lincoln, Loveland, CO with a reception following at the Allnutt Reception Center.
