Anna G. Mauk passed away at her home at Eagle's Nest Assisted Living in Fort Collins, on Sunday, November 1, 2009; she was 102. Anna was an inspiration to her family and friends. She lived a long and healthy life and kept her positive attitude, beautiful smile and sense of humor. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will always be remembered as the loving matriarch of her family.
Anna was born in Southard, Missouri, on November 28, 1906. At the age of 9, Anna moved to Seibert, Colorado with her parents and six brothers and sisters. When she was 19, she married Ernest Bancroft and raised two children, JoAnne and Jack, on the family farm. Anna moved to Fort Collins, in 1947. In November 1958, she married George Mauk; they were married for 36 years. Anna lived at Parkwood Estates for four years before moving to Eagle's Nest.
Anna was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a life-long member of the Community of Christ Church. Anna loved playing cards, word puzzles, watching the Denver Broncos and visiting with her family and friends.
Anna is survived by her son, Jack (Janet) Bancroft of Seibert; seven grandchildren, Sue (Dan) Henderson, Gwen (Greg) Feit of Fort Collins, Terri (Greg) Cooper, Rod (Ranae) Bancroft, Jay (Charlayne) Bancroft, all of Seibert, Paula (Kirk) Andersen of Limon, and Alan Bancroft of Greeley. Anna was blessed with 20 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Anna also leaves behind her very special family at Eagles Nest, Scott, Carrieann, Brittany, and Matthew Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Mauk; daughter, JoAnne Waldron; and great grandson, Evan Bancroft.
Viewing will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Allnutt Drake Chapel. Funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Thursday, November 5, 2009 also at Allnutt Drake Chapel in Fort Collins.
