Lloyd L. Ewing, 77, of LaSalle went to be with his Lord on July 25, 2010 after a valiant battle at NCMC.

Lloyd was born to William H. and Mary (Steele) Ewing in LaSalle, Colorado on October 2, 1932. He attended College High School and graduated in 1950. On December 14, 1952, he married his sweetheart and life partner, Donna Johnson, at the Park Congregational Church in Greeley.

Lloyd served in the U.S. Army 13th Engineer Combat Battalion in Korea from 1953-55 and served in active reserves until 1960.

Lloyd has been an active member of Bethel Baptist Church since 1958. He and Donna have dedicated their lives to furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ, both here and in other places. Lloyd was an outstanding farmer and enjoyed farming for over 50 years on the family farm in the LaSalle area. Lloyd was a worthy and loving mentor and model for his son, James, on the family farm until the final days of his life. He was a Colorado settler’s descendant. He loved his family and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s musical and sporting events.

Lloyd was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Donna M. Ewing, daughter Lee Hubbard and husband Mike of LaSalle, son James of LaSalle and grandchildren Lindsey and Drew Hubbard of LaSalle. He is also survived by sisters Frances Schipper of Greeley, Marian Scheirman and husband Tom of Greeley, brother Joe Ewing and wife Alice of Wiggins, Bob Ewing and wife Mardelle of LaSalle and many nieces and nephews.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill Ewing and sister Anna Ruyle.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the Allnutt Macy Chapel.

Services to celebrate Lloyd’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church, 2307 17th Avenue. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
