John Michael Huhta

John Michael “Mike” Huhta, 75, of Fort Collins, passed away on July 26, 2010. Mike was born in Larium, Michigan and moved to Colorado in his teens. He graduated from South High School in Denver, served in the U.S. Army, and received a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Colorado. He married Jacqueline L. Williams in 1965.
Mike worked for IBM, owned and managed several small technology businesses, and owned a successful printing business in Denver for the last years of his career. Mike and Jacquie lived in Littleton, Colorado, for many years and moved to Fort Collins in 2005.
Mike was a beloved husband, son, brother, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved the outdoors – biking, hiking, skiing, and traveling in the mountains of Colorado. Mike is survived by his wife, Jacquie, his mother, Sylvia T. Huhta, his sisters Judith Miles and Christine Mason, his four sons Keith, Brad, Jeff and Craig, and his four grandchildren Taylor, Andrew, Alix, and Sam. A memorial service will be held at the Foothills Unitarian Church in Fort Collins at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 31. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Association of the Rockies or to the National Parkinson Foundation.
